I'm new to this site, but relatively familiar with art-mail and pen-pal type things. I've rented a PO Box for this purpose, and hope to get some things going.

If you send art with a return address, I'll send you something back.

Or you can just mail something odd or random or weird.

i study art therapy in Germany and work on the arty part of my diploma at the moment - and i invite you to support my work “ babel“!
Babel is about the try to cancel the moment of disintegration, it is about identity, community,structure and the basic needs of human beings and it is about you as well, when you join this project;
Please send me one article of your clothing, which you don`t need
anymore (it doesn`t matter if there is a mark on it, a cut in it, the
zipper is not working anymore etc.) and a word (in your language, a
word, which you like, which you don`t like, which you use often or
never, it can be a name, too) to this adress :

in case you like to send me more material - like little messages,
infomation about you, your life, your country,the article of clothing
( maybe there is a story about it - you never liked to wear it, it was
a gift, you wore it in an important moment) - i will be pleased about

my plan is to put all together in a new way - so that there will be one dress and one poem at the end for one performance/ film/installation, but it is not clear how it will be exactly - at least the most important thing depends on you. maybe the dress and the poem will go on a journey again, maybe they will come back to you, maybe you get a message from them, maybe you won´t see them again, maybe....the ideas become more and more with every package i get from you what ever will happen - i let you know. and be sure; whenever you give something - you get something.
the artwork will be shown at the diploma exhibition of the FH Ottersberg (Germany) on march 21th 2008.

White Elephant Art Swap

Do you paint? Write poetry? Make erotic art sculptures of Dave
Chappelle? Well then this might be the thing for you!

DJ Death Squad Productions is putting on its first however-so-often-
it-happens White Elephant Art Swap. You give art. You get art. From
someone you totally don't even know! Interested? Follow this yellow
brick road of guidelines:

1) You must have an original artwork (any medium- words, paint,
tunes, etc.) in mind before you sign up, and you must give a detailed
description and/or photo with your sign up. To sign up send your full
name and mailing address to djdeathsquad@gmail.com. I will collect
around 50 names / artists before cutting off the swap. US addresses
only at the moment for postage / timing reasons, although I will be
organizing a worldwide art swap at a later date if this works out.
Artworks must be of your own original creation although
collaborations are still considered groovy.

2) The official swap will be held on March 10th, 2007. On this date
you will receive the mailing address of the person you should send
your artwork to. Your artwork must be mailed no later than March 20th.

3) On March 10th another artist will have received your mailing
address and will be sending you an artwork. This will not likely be
the same person you sent artwork to.

4) After the swap, if you would like to share a photo or comments
regarding the artwork, you can email them to me and I will slap them
up on a really sexy art swap community page I have yet to build.

"A conversation"; Seeking mail Art partner.

I'm interested in exchanging art through mail with other artist. Ideally the exchange would be like a conversation between you and I through out a twelve month cycle. Each piece exchanged would be a comment or reaction to the other creating personal artistic dialogue.

If anyone is interested and can commit to this exploration please contact me. This is for personal expansion only, testing the waters of mail art and anything exchanged would be for my own private collection...and I request the same.

hey folks, I found this out there in the digital soup.

Postcard Project

i live in a group of 15 fantastic people. since the beginning of the year we have participated in a weekly workshop taught by one of our housemates. so far, amongst otherthings, we have made a portrait of chopin by the collage method, we have painted a stone age universe picture and we have learnt how to juggle! on february 23, i have signed up to be the guest professor and i would like to introduce my friends to the joys of mail art. first i will explain what mail art is as best i can, with the help of some beautiful things people have sent me, and then we will each make a unique postcard. i don't know what media it will be in as we have carpenters, painters, water colourists, collagists etc etc but i am sure they will all be very special. then we will address the postcards and i will send them off to whoever has sent me their address. this is where you come in, gentle reader. the idea would be for you to send me an email saying you are interested in this scheme, and to give me your address. then sit still, remembering of course to breathe, until you receive a postcard in the mail. next, make one yourself (however you
want, i think its nice if you are inspired by what you receive) and send it back to the name and address on the postcard. hopefully, the result is that everyone gets an original piece of art and everyone is happy.

i am asking for your adress in advance so we can get the postcards named and addressed on the same day. everyone who is interested will get sent a card.

i am excited about this project and hope it works out. if you are not interested in this particular mail art project but would like to correspond with me, that is also cool, my address is below. cheers!
